Welcome SMS solution introduction
The Welcome SMS solution enables operators to manage the Welcome SMS at a granular level for roaming subscribers by using Transaction Detail Record (TDR) files. The solution intercepts the Update Location operation which is triggered by the subscriber’s handset when s/he changes network or Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) whereby a TDR is provided by the operator to the WSMS solution as a file feed. The files with TDRs are then consumed by the Welcome SMS solution to issue a more detailed and appropriate welcome SMS.
| The solution is deployed at the network’s edge or as part of a Tango Telecom cluster in the operator’s network which sits between the Visited Location Register (VLR) and the guest networks as this minimizes impact on the home network. |
